Graphics Cards

A good graphics card is a must have for any PC or laptop user looking to push their machine to the limits with high-end gaming. Box.co.uk stock the most popular and latest series of graphics cards from top brands such as ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Palit and many more. All powered by NVIDIA GeForce or AMD Radeon technology for industry leading performance.

NVIDIA GeForce or AMD Radeon?

When looking to purchase a new graphics card, one of the first decisions will be to choose between an NVIDIA GeForce or AMD Radeon powered card. Both companies produce top of the range GPUs for your gaming PC, but there are subtle differences that will certainly influence your decision. While both NVIDIA and AMD’s latest cards support Raytracing (DXR) and ultra-high frame rates for the ultimate 4k gaming experience, you will notice subtle differences between RAM capacities, clock speeds and the amount of slots used.

Ultimately both companies produce fantastic cards so ultimately the decision will come down to compatibility and spec that suits your build and budget.

RAM Capacity and Memory Type

The type of memory your chosen graphics card has will determine how well the card performs, as this dictates the type and amount of RAM on the card, as well as how fast the clock speed is. With various memory types to choose from including DDR4, DDR5 and GDDR6 you can be assured of finding the perfect graphics card to suit your needs.

Lite Hash Rate Graphics Cards

Lite hash rate graphics cards are a new form of high-performance GPU aimed solely at gaming. These cards have been tweaked to produce a lower hash rate which makes them less desirable for crypto mining, while still perfect for gaming. The benefit of lite hash rate GPUs are that their price and availability should remain more stable, allowing gamers to purchase top of the range graphics cards without having to battle scalpers purchasing in large quantities to sell on to miners.

Clock Speeds

While a higher clock speed doesn’t always mean better performance, with other factors including variances in GPU architecture, the number of available cores, memory size and type playing a part. However if all else is equal than a higher clock speed will produce a faster graphics card. One thing to consider with this is that more power will be demanded by a card with a higher clock speed, plus it is also likely to get hotter and will need greater cooling when running at full speed.

Number of Cores

Put simply, the greater the number of cores the better your graphics card will perform. More cores allow for greater processing power simultaneously. This results in vivid visuals that sport high frames rates and low latency, while even allowing streaming to the masses without compromising on performance.

What is a Quadro Graphics Card?

A Quadro graphics card is a GPU aimed at professionals working on creative assets from photography, videography to animation and 3D rendering. With large memory and optimised drivers, NVIDIA’s Quadro graphics cards deliver world leading visual computing power that’s the benchmark for creative industries.
