Amazing Monitor for Photo Editing – ASUS ProArt PA247CV Review

I recently purchased the ASUS ProArt PA247CV 23.8” Full HD Monitor, and after a few weeks of use, I can confidently say it’s one of the best investments I’ve made for my photography and editing setup.

Color Accuracy is Spot On

As someone who works a lot with photo editing and color correction, I needed a monitor that delivers accurate and consistent color. This monitor absolutely delivers on that front. Out of the box, it’s factory-calibrated and Calman Verified, and the colors look incredibly true to life. Skin tones are natural, shadows and highlights are well-balanced, and there’s no weird tint or color shift like I’ve experienced with cheaper displays.

It covers 100% of the sRGB and Rec. 709 color gamuts, which is perfect for my workflow in Lightroom and Photoshop. The Delta E < 2 accuracy really does make a difference when you’re trying to get that final color grade just right.

Great Build and Ergonomics

The design is clean and professional, and the screen itself has a nice matte finish that reduces glare without muting the image. I really appreciate the stand—it’s fully adjustable (height, tilt, swivel, and pivot), which is a huge plus when working long hours and needing to switch from landscape to portrait mode. It’s also VESA mount compatible, which I might use down the line.

Connectivity is Super Convenient

One of my favorite features is the USB-C port with 65W power delivery. I use a laptop for editing sometimes, and being able to plug in just one cable for power, display, and data is a game changer. It also has HDMI, DisplayPort, and several USB 3.2 ports, making it perfect as a hub for external drives, card readers, and other accessories.

Sharpness and Clarity

Even though it’s a 1080p screen, the sharpness is excellent on this 23.8” size. Text is crisp, images are clean, and I don’t feel like I’m missing out on detail when editing high-resolution RAW files. The IPS panel has great viewing angles and consistent brightness across the screen.

Bonus: 75Hz Refresh Rate

While not essential for photo work, the 75Hz refresh rate is a nice touch. Everything from scrolling through my timeline to switching between programs feels smoother. It’s not meant to be a gaming monitor, but it handles casual gaming quite well too.

Absolutely fabulous. Now seeing detail in all photos particularly old black and white that I have never seen before.
