Acer Nitro Gaming Laptops
The Acer Nitro is a gaming laptop range that’s packed with some top of the range specs, but without the hefty price tag that you would expect from the more premium gaming laptop range such as Acer Predator. They’re also relatively lightweight and super portable. Plus, you’ll be proud to carry your Nitro Laptop on the go as they ooze style with features such as RGB backlit keyboards and narrow bezels.
Acer Nitro 5 2020 vs 2021
Here at Box, we stock a huge range of Acer Nitro laptops. You may be wondering what the difference is between the Nitro 5 2020 and Nitro 5 2021 are, well worry not as we will explain for you.
Overall, you’ll find upgraded components and specs on the 2021 range as well as higher prices, as you would probably expect.
Taking a look at the Processors, we notice that most of the 2021 range has the Intel i7 and AMD Ryzen 7, whilst the 2020 range appears to have the i5 processors. The i7 processors are typically faster than the i5s, and are better equipped for heavier workloads.
We also have the latest RTX 30 series Graphics Cards in the 2021 range which really kick things up a notch. Built on ampere architecture, the 30 series flaunt dedicated RT and tensor cores, with the former providing next-level raytracing and the latter using AI enhancements to boost frame rates. This is a range of GPUs that should not be missed.
Meanwhile, it seems the RAM has had a little upgrade too, with most of the Nitro 5 2021 range sporting 16GB. This will enable you to breeze through multitasking such as working from multiple tabs, chatting to friends whilst gaming and streaming too. Whilst 8GB is decent, it's not what you'd ideally have for gaming.
We also have up to a quad HD display available on some of the 2021 range, which of course offers a sharper resolution. However, most of the 2021 range has a Full HD display, so you’re not getting much more than with the 2020 range.
Other similarities include both ranges of the Nitro 5 laptops having WiFi6, as well as 144Hz refresh rate, with the exception of a couple of 2021 models. You can find options for 15” and 17” displays on both ranges, plus you can find up to 1TB SSDs on the 2021 range.
A huge difference, however, is the pricing. With the 2020 range sitting around ⅓ cheaper. This makes it a much more affordable and realistic option for most. Plus, as it’s still packed with specs that can handle both lightweight and heavy games it still makes a great choice.
