Good & Fast had Trouble With Scangear But Worked Well With VueScan Which I Use For My Other Scanner.

Inexpensive flatbed scanner. Scanner software take a bit of getting used to but does the job.

Very good quality scans but I found the supplied Canon software poor on a Mac. However, the Mac's own software works well with it so I was still able to achieve excellent quality scans

Being a flat bed scanner means you can't load dozens of pictures and leave the machine to do its stuff. However, tha quality of scans are superb and it is clever in that, say, 4 pictures can be scanned at the same time and it creates 4 seperate files simultaneously. You can scan either by using the Canon software or simply by buttons on the machine itself. With the software you can also edit the pictures before you save them. For the price this machine can't be beaten, but if you want a fully automatic scanner it will cost you hundreds, and only save you time.
